Message in a bottle

I find myself - suddenly older
as I lay these words to rest,
as I put the future into recent past,

as I pack it away for my daughter.

I find myself - somewhat wiser
since I've tried to make a name.
When you lose yourself along the way
your sparks will slowly die.

And if it's not coming from my heart
I'm never going to be anything
for anyone else again.

I find myself so unafraid
to cry throughout the night;
I've never felt so confident
to know I will survive

Gifts for my second parents, as I often call them. My guardians or godparents if you will. (My own parents are alive and well, fyi) Their birthdays are two days apart so I can give these books at the same time!
The books are completely glue-less, made out of cardboard stitched together. And a plastic sheet in the windows. The pattern on the 'cutains' was hand-embroidered. The 'landscapes' are made out of several layers op paper with shapes cut out of them. The signatures and covers were bound together, using the Coptic binding.

Yeah, I do that too, but when it fails...

I always have very specific demands, so making it myself is my only option sometimes.
